Nightcap Ridge, above Dead Man's Creek, coming in from left to join headwaters of Middle fork of Stanislaus, falling into Kennedy Meadows from the elevated Emigrant Basin. Turning left up the canyon around the end of the ridge in the middle distance switchbacks up into the hanging vallies of Deadman's Crk., asending unto the very saddle of Sonora Pass, at 9,000+ ft.
